A group is involved in replacing the signage on the information board in the car park

Following the discovery of a concrete block (now destroyed) used as part of a  road barrier during WW2, plans are in hand to record this for the future.

Liaison is ongoing with the Gateway to the Glens Museum and the Library

 KHT will take a table in the tent at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations at Glamis Castle on May 20

Celebrations for the 100th Anniversary of Scott’s journey to the South Pole are being supported (see below)

One  hundred years to the day after Robert Falcon Scott and his team reached the South Pole, on 17th January a 30 ton lump of granite was loaded in an Aberdeenshire quarry for transportation to Kirriemuir to be sculpted by Bruce Walker into a replacement memorial in Glenprosen for the  ill-fated expedition . 

More local activities are planned this year to commemorate this centenary and Kirriemuir Heritage Trust shall notify you of these events - come back soon.
