The Trust was formed in November 2007 to protect, promote and develop the heritage of Kirriemuir & District in all its forms (including culture).

We believe Kirriemuir is a great place to live... with its superb scenery; excellent housing; successful schools and lively community groups.

Much of that is down to the hard work and forward-thinking of past generations.

* KHT aims to ensure that future generations will know about that, and respect it.

* KHT also aims to ensure that Kirriemuir and the Glens are, “Fit for purpose” in the 21st century.

A TALE

At the urging of their doctor, Bill and Mary moved to Kirriemuir.

After settling in, they met a neighbour who was also an older man.

"Say, is this really a healthy place?"

"It sure is,"  the man replied.

"When I first arrived here I couldn't say one word. I  had hardly any hair on my head. I didn't have the strength to walk across a room  and I had to be lifted out of bed."

"That's wonderful!" said Bill. "How  long have you been here?"

"I was born here!"
